Objective of SHRESHTA

Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) provides for high quality education for meritorious Scheduled Castes (SCs) students only, in CBSE-affiliated reputed residential schools. Approximately 3,000 seats would be provided in class 9th and 11th fully funded by the Central Government.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Student belonging to Scheduled Castes, studying in class 8th and 10th in the current academic year (2021-22).
  • Parental annual income is up to ₹ 2.5 lakh.
  • Candidate applying for Class 9 should be born between 01-04-2006 to 31-03-2010 (both days inclusive).
  • Candidate applying for Class 11 should be born between 01-04-2004 to 31-03-2008 (both days inclusive).

Age Limit

  • For Class 9 – Born Between 01-04-2006 To 31-03-2010 (Both Days Inclusive)
  • For Class 11 – Born Between 01-04-2004 To 31-03-2008 (Both Days Inclusive)

Application Fee

  • There is no fee for the examination.

  • Step 2 – Application Form And this includes filling of personal details, applying for examination cities, qualification details, additional details (if any)
  • Step 3 – Uploading Scanned of following
    • Candidate Photograph

    • Income Certificate (Optional)
  • Step 4 – Finally Download, save and print a copy of the Confirmation Page of the Application Form for future reference.
